For a good user experience, it is always a good idea to display a "how to" on a web page that requires an action from a user.
Embedded Help System is a wonderful jQuery plugin for creating visual and animated usage guides on a web interface.
It can be easily added into any existing web page and can display tip boxes that shows + explains the steps of an action. Or, it can perform an animated display of a mouse guiding the user on "things to do".
The plugin gets the settings from a JSON file and can focus on an element for a given period, style it (to emphasize the importance) and more.
There are various demos provided that are worth checking to see the functionality better (click the links on the left bar of the demo page).

DaDaBIK is an open source and mature PHP application for creating a customizable database front-end without coding.
Within minutes, you can create a basic CRUD (create, read, update, delete) application or dive into its features to build a more complicated one.
It doesn't generate a PHP script, stores the settings and can easily adapt to changes made in the database schema.

What is BrushLovers?
BrushLovers is a website which has an exclusive and huge collection of both paid and free Photoshop brushes.
There are 100s of brushes that are well-categorized and here are some examples.
The brushes provided can be used in personal and commercial projects (including the free ones).
For the paid ones, they are offered for very good prices and can even be purchased for $1 or less by purchasing "packs" first, which is a good deal.
BrushLovers doesn't require registration, however, you can optionally become a member and add the sets you liked to your "favorites" for downloading later.

JSZip is an open source JavaScript library for creating .zip files on the client-side.
Using very simple functions, you can add any number of files and folders inside the zip file, find items already included and remove any of them.
The library is not a totally perfect solution as it does not support Google Chrome + IE and has some issues in generating the name for the zip file (an alternative solution using Downloadify is offered).

There are 3 built-in notification types: information, success and failure where each of them can be skinned via CSS.

TinyLetter is a free-to-use web service which enables us to create an e-mail newsletter and get subscribers.
It has a very straightforward functionality and interface. You just pick a name for the newsletter and embed a code into the website which displays a sign-up form.
Also, you can ask the users to go to the custom URL provided by the service (like http://tinyletter.com/listName) where the design of it can be customized.
You can see the past newsletters, read replies, see the list of subscribers and also import e-mails.
An original feature is the support for "asking a payment for subscription" to the newsletter where the amounts can be collected by the service or directly sent to any given PayPal address.
It doesn't have any advanced features like reporting, custom text per subscriber or ready-to-use templates but, for some projects, simplicity is all we need.

If you prefer to check your email from your
own website directly using a web browser instead of sending it to
some third party email service like Gmail or Hotmail (or whatever), the newest addition to the
Free Web Mail PHP Scripts (Email Clients)
page will let you do that. Simply install it on your site, configure it with your browser, customize it if
you like, and you'll have created your own webmail. (And you can even support other users, if that's your intention.)
Learning a user's browser and its version is usually very important to decide if any other scripts or styles need to be inserted into the web page.
And, such tasks are usually accomplished with JavaScript as we don't need to go so deep (detecting if it is IE or not is generally enough).
Browser.php is a very useful PHP class that helps collecting data about a visitor's browser including:
- platform used
- browser
- browser version
It can detect almost every popular browser including mobile + tablet devices and robots with a few lines just like:

If the need for browser detection is more than just analyzing whether it is IE, Firefox, Chrome or Safari, then Browser.php is definitely a must-bookmark.
