Google uses a method known as PageRank to quantify the “importance” of a web page. PageRank is measured on a scale of 1 to 10 and is primarily determined by the PageRank of links pointing to a given page. An exhaustive but technical explanation can be found here. PageRank is but one of several factors Google uses to place a web page in the search engine results pages.Google uses an algorithm called PageRank to rank web pages that match a given search string. The PageRank algorithm computes a recursive figure of merit for web pages, based on the weighted sum of the PageRanks of the pages linking to them. The PageRank (PR) thus derives from human-generated links, and correlates well with human concepts of importance.

AcdBrn is the content management system developed by Thomas Hunter. Development on the CMS started back in 2005 as an experiment to learn PHP, and new features and functionality were constantly being added. Before long, a simple framework had evolved along with a fairly standardized way for writing web applications. In an attempt to keep the CMS alive and breathing, Thomas finally decided in January 2010 that the project should be officially named, cleaned up, and made open source. It is now available for download under the New BSD License. Under this license, you are allowed to modify and redistribute it as long as you keep the license file and attribute the original developer. This CMS features an easy to use template system, WYSIWYG editing, SEO URLs, and is very easy to expand and add your own custom programmed sections. Ultimately, it is easy for both the content administrators and application developers to use.
