An Emirati youth died after his car rammed another vehicle and then crashed into a lamppost in Ras Al Khaimah on Saturday afternoon. Such was the impact of the accident that the car burst into flames.
The victim, identified as M.M., burned to death in the accident that was reported on the Ghalila road in the Shaam area.
After being alerted of the accident, the central operations room of the RAK Police dispatched police patrols and paramedics to the site.
“The victim, 19, died on the spot after he lost control over the car he was driving at a high speed, hit another car driven by an Arab driver, veered of the road, and rammed into a lamppost,” said Brigadier Dr Mohammed Saeed Al Humaidi, director-general of the central operations department.
The accident was also blamed on the driver of the other car. “He erroneously entered the road without making sure it was clear first.”

Tunisians on Sunday marked seven years since the uprising that launched the Arab Spring, with fresh protests after days of unrest over persisting poverty and unemployment.
Prime Minister Youssef Chahed decided to allocate 100 million dinars (about $40 million) to help 200,000 of the neediest families plus free health care for the jobless. An aid fund for poor families to acquire housing also was created.
On Sunday, hundreds gathered in Tunis, responding to calls to protest from a powerful labour union and several political parties. Security was tight as protesters poured through checkpoints into the capital’s Habib Bourguiba Avenue, which was the epicentre of the 2011 protests. Demonstrators chanted against “poverty and hunger” as they marched up the avenue, accusing “thieves” of having stolen the country.

Chinese second division club Beijing Enterprises have released Nigeria striker Victor Anichebe, according to ScoreNigeria.
The former Everton striker signed for the Chinese club in June last year, but failed to hit the ground running in the Far Eastern country and only scored twice in 11 league games for the ambitious team, who only managed to finish eighth last year in the Chinese second division.
The 29-year old has previously featured for Everton, West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland in the Premier League in England.
He has also been capped by Nigeria at U23 level, playing at the Beijing Olympics where Nigeria lost in the football final to a Lionel Messi-inspired Argentina.

Towering Super Eagles defender, Stephen Eze has been voted as the Man-of-the-Match in Friday’s Group C game between Nigeria and Libya.
Eze was quite massive for the Super Eagles at the back where he frustrated most of the moves of the Libyans.
He was also dangerous going forward for set pieces as Nigeria secured a lone goal win on Friday.
The lanky central defender has already signed a deal with Bulgarian club Lokomotiv Plovdiv and will join them at the end of Nigeria’s participation at the CHAN tournament.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang set to join Arsenal for a £53 million transfer fee that will see him overtake Alexandre Lacazette as the club’s record signing according to reports in Germany.
The 28-year-old Borussia Dortmund striker looks like he has succeeded in forcing his move to Emirate this month as he was left out of The Black and Yellows squad that traveled to take on Hertha Berlin on Saturday after the club admitted the Gabon international was not in the right frame of mind to play.
Dortmund chief blast Wenger over Aubameyang remark
According to Sky Germany claiming that Aubameyang’s move to Arsenal is now ‘imminent’ with the deal to bring Bundesliga highest goal scorer last season to North London will be worth £53million and Arsenal will be buying a frontman who has scored 141 goals in 212 appearances for Dortmund.
Aubameyang will replace the Manchester United-bound Alexis Sanchez with Chinese Super League outfits linking with former AC Milan and Saint-Étienne man.
