Jakarta. AirAsia, Southeast Asia’s largest budget airline, announced new direct flights to Manila in the Philippines from the Indonesian island of Bali and its capital Jakarta in a statement released on Thursday (26/10).
AirAsia Philippines will start operating the new routes from Jakarta to Manila on Jan. 9 and from Bali to Manila on Jan. 19 under the flight code “Z2” using a narrow-body Airbus A320-200 with a capacity of 180 passengers.
“We’ve always believed in the market potential of Asean, so we’re more than excited to connect more destinations in the region,” Dendy Kurniawan, AirAsia’s chief executive for Indonesia, said.
Daily flights from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) in Manila to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) will depart at 8.00 a.m. and arrive at 11.00 a.m. The return flight from CGK to MNL will depart at 11.30 a.m. and arrive at 4.45 p.m.
Daily flights from Ninoy Aquino International Airport to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in Denpasar, Bali, will depart at 6.40 p.m. and arrive at 10.55 p.m. The return flight from DPS to MNL will depart at 11.20 p.m. and arrive at 3.25 a.m.
“Manila is a major tourist and business destination in Asean. Connecting the most densely populated city in the Philippines with Jakarta and Bali […] should also bring in more tourists to our country,” Dendy said.

It’s been 24 hours since M.I released his controversial track ‘You Rappers Should Fix Up Your Lives“, which got mixed reactions from fans the rap community in Nigeria as a whole.

Um trabalhador de 51 anos morreu ontem de manhã após ser esmagado por várias placas de vidro que estavam a ser mudadas de local com recurso a um guindaste, no Complexo Desportivo de Vila Real de Santo António.
O acidente de trabalho aconteceu pouco antes das 12h00, junto à avenida Duarte Pacheco, em Vila Real de Santo António, quando vários trabalhadores de uma empresa subempreiteira estavam a fazer a mudança de sítio das estruturas de vidro que servem de paredes nos recintos de padel.
Em circunstâncias ainda por apurar, um dos trabalhadores, de 51 anos, acabou por ficar esmagado por seis placas de vidro, com um peso superior a 100 quilos cada, quando estas estavam a ser manobradas por um camião com um guindaste.
A vítima, um trabalhador com residência na zona de Oeiras, ficou imediatamente em paragem cardiorrespiratória e acabaria por ser transportado para o Serviço de Urgência Básica (SUB) de Vila Real de Santo António pelas equipas de socorro, mas o óbito acabou por ser declarado pouco depois.
Além dos meios dos bombeiros locais, Serviço Municipal de Proteção Civil e INEM, a PSP foi chamada e fez várias diligências, tendo dado conhecimento do incidente à Autoridade para as Condições do Trabalho e ao Ministério Público, ao qual cabe apreciar o caso e determinar se poderá estar em causa um mero acidente de trabalho ou um crime de homicídio por negligência.
